Sally Mackenzie

Sally Mackenzie originates from California (B.S. from U.C. Davis) and received her PhD training at University of Florida, Gainesville. The Ralph and Alice Raikes Chair of Plant Science at the University of Nebraska, Sally is currently serving as President to ASPB. The Mackenzie Lab research focuses on organellar influences on plant environmental sensing and epigenetic behaviors.  The group has developed a system that allows genetic perturbation of organellar stability to condition epigenetic reprogramming and enhanced abiotic stress responsiveness. Recent work with this system appears in Molecular Plant (Virdi et al. 2016), Nature Communications (Virdi et al. 2015), Plant Physiology (Yang et al. 2015), and PLoS One (Sanchez and Mackenzie 2016).
